The Role of Higher Education in Addressing the Climate Crisis

There are roughly 30,000 post secondary institutions globally at least as of 2023 and these institutions enroll approximately 220 million students and employ nearly 6 million faculty so I'm wondering with those I think pretty gigantic numbers when you really think of higher ed as this global institution right. How do a small liberal arts college or an underfunded regional university like both of whom may be not in the strongest financial health respond to the climate crisis? And then sort of alternatively what role do you think like a flagship public university say the University of Florida where I did graduate work or a well endowed private university and then say Harvard says the University of Chicago like what role do they play in addressing climate crisis right?"
