The Passover Lamb of God
Gospel writers engage in this just as much as the writer of Exodus engages in vis-a-vis Genesis. John is running this all day long, behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. That's John 1 29. Theses statement only makes sense if we read the Passover narrative in Exodus. So the Jesus death is a new Exodus scenario.
