The Importance of Humor in Stand-Up
I think one of the big mistakes people make about stand-up is they're prescriptive about what it ought to contain. And the brilliant thing about it is it is a blank page. It's a blank stage. It's not what you want on it. You don't have to tell the truth. Truth is, but not the truth. I just, my mother has to come and see a show where I, I remember the time they came to the show where I used the C word 35 times. My dad sort of came and said he'd enjoyed it. But you know what I mean?
