Is Gary Bettman in Expansion Mode?
NHL commissioner Gary Betman said the league is getting interest from different entities and cities, places like Atlanta. The next expansion fee is going to be much more than the $500 million that Bettman paid Vegas for its team in Las Vegas. I believe it's going to end up north of 800 million for an Ottawa Senator franchise - one of the smaller Canadian markets that needs a new arena as part of it. And so if you're Gary Betman, it's not to say this isn't happening but we're not in expansion mode.
