A Patient Comes to You From the Emergency Department

Sherlock holmes once said that all you need to do to form deduction is observation, a deduction and an knowledge. In this story he follows the case of a 55-year-old retired man who has been feeling unwell for some time. He ends up in hospital after being taken there by ambulance when his vitals are so low they can't tell if he's alive or dead. The patient turns out to be very much alive but only able to move on with his life due to deeply painful stimuli.
