This chapter explores the rise of disinformation and its impact on society, particularly during presidential election years. It discusses the difference between misinformation and disinformation, provides historical examples of how disinformation fuels denialism, and reveals how disinformation tactics were used by the Russian intelligence service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
