The Price of Using Technology

The technology in this story involves a fair amount of direct and painful physical connections between humans and the machines of the dead ships. I wanted to create this very oppressive society that's based on scavenging. So the interface sort of thematically hard to be painful in order to make manifest the price of using technology.
