Jacob Levy's Rationalism, Pluralism and Freedom

The book is not a defense of pluralism. It is rather committed to the thesis that pluralism and rationalism sit uneasily together. The tension between them is one that we don't overcome but must intellectually and sociological live with. This book does not answer its questions and by its own admission its theory is impure. And that's why the book is so good.
