The Motivation of a Serial Entrepreneur

There are serial entrepreneurs out there, but they're very few and far between. What's the main motivation of a serial entrepreneur? I try to look for things where people are not motivated only based on financial outcomes. The value system that I hold dear is that you really believe needs to be solved because the world needs that.
