Crimea Is Russian

In many ways, maybe Putin's greatest moment as Russian president was annexing Crimea. He must understand at some level that holding onto those parts of Ukraine is going to be an enormous, costly and difficult exercise probably with a large insurgency. By contrast, there's none of that in Crimea. There's no insurgency. Most Crimea's want to be Russian. I also think that Putin really honestly believes Crimea is Russian and really values Crimea as Russian. And that's why the real red line is around Crimea.
