The Experience of Being a Black Medical Student

The share of doctors who are Black men has remained unchanged since 1940. Overall the percentage of Black physicians in the US has only gone up like four percentage points in 120 years, which is really striking. Being at a place like UCSF that is kind of pushing this pursuit of increasing representation in medicine, especially among Black students, I think it's made me more comfortable in this journey.
