The Bitterness of the Early Campaigns

There's questions about why it is that there was so much bitterness in the early campaigns. These were people who were struggling against people they really felt were their sworn enemies. So we've had at various points in our history, you know, a lot of mud slinging. And I think because we study a long period of time, we can somewhat see a broader view of things.
