The Jungian Point of View on Self-Talk

The ego is not aware that it's participating in any great energies. What you've got to get clear about is the arch-type of self is not going anywhere. The punitive super ego then is the form it takes. And so when the person is suicidal, they are experiencing an assault of the presence of the great self. It will assault the little ego in a very vicious and sadistic way.
