The Pros and Cons of Importing From China

China produces more solar energy than any nation in the world by far. Does it make sense if you are France, Germany, Canada or the United States to import China's produces the most affordable solar? I think for some critical industries, they should keep manufacturing regardless of whether they can make it cheap. The pandemic of a few years ago highlighted some real issues within Europe and the US now.
