In many ways AI ethics has become a bit of a an attempt to solve problems that are real, like bias and data sets. If we have super powerful AGI is on the line it doesn't fucking matter if we regulate it or not. It just doesn't matter if we ban we if the government says, oh, we forbid you from turning us all the paper clips to quote by someone who was about to be paper clipped. I'm not super happy with everything how the field in practice actually operates. This is not in general there are wonderful people in this field doing very important work. We need to restructured into the sub fields of a artificial sample efficiency and artificial.
