The Rise and Fall of William Desmond Taylor
In 1922, William Desmond Taylor was the director of 59 silent movies. He had been an actor in 27 films before becoming a director. His work included adaption of Huckleberry Finn and Anne of Green Gables. After World War I he returned to Hollywood as head of Motion Picture Directors Association. But five years after his first film directed by him - The Awakening - he married actress Never Gerber. When asked to describe him she said: "He was the soul of honor"
