The Importance of Contour Shape in Music

Williams proved that the contour is almost the most important thing. If it's rhythmically memorable, you can even get rid of pitch entirely. I remember in Mission Possible 3, Giacchino did that. So to me, that was like sort of like an aha moment. It's like the shape itself is enough to remind people of what it is. There's moments when you're fighting Vader as, as Seer, where I have the Imperial March melody in there,. but it's rather subtle because it's all in like the low synth and bass.
