The Fall of North China
Jiang Kai-shek sent out an SOS to all the great powers, but everyone else had their own problems. Beijing was going to have to face this military beast on his own and Pearl Harbor was still a good four years away. With North China subdued, the Japanese military strategy called for a period of consolidation before moving on to the next phase. Zhongkai Shek knew this, and so his plan was to rush Japan into this next phase before they were ready. This event and the Nanking Massacre go hand in hand. Practically at the last moment Everyone who had something to lose, besides their lives, pulled up stakes and left Zhongkai.
