The History of Scleral Lictorists

The nomenclature around the jaundice of the eye has been changing over the last 150 years. It really wasn't until the 1940s that it became scleral ictorists. The first six editions of Cecil's textbook, textbook of medicine, which was kind of the next big textbook of internal medicine were published between 1927 and 1943. They also note that jaundice is localized to the conjunctiva.
