Lighthouse Construction - A Tragic Tragedy
In 18 73, a truly harrowing tragedy happened at saint augustine lighthouse. During this time, there was a massive amount of construction being done on the lighthouse. A man named hezekiah pitty took the job superintendent of lighthouse construction. He and his wife had five children, four daughters and one son. In order to make things move smoother, a system was created for construction. The workers used a railway cart to bring the supplies to and from wherever they needed to go.
