Women's rights were the sort of spark for this protest. Many wouldn't carry mobile phones because they didn't want to be identifiable if they were stonked by police. Women would stand on top of cars and take scissors to their hair in a powerful show of defiance. Their honor and dignity is meant to lie in the covering of their hair, then they're willing to make themselves ugly to have freedom.
