The Dark Patterns of Law and Regulation Are Shape Shifters

Law and regulation has to be highly specific, and it has to show harm as well. And so linking up and connecting all those dots is very challenging. As we've seen in the last decade, dark patterns are shape shifters. They they shift form. They shift in strategy, they shift in the way that they're deployed. So i think one of the big interests in the regulatory community at this point is actually finding classifications of strategies that adversely impact people already agree should be protected.
