Is EED a Disease of Absorption?
Disease is essentially a disease of absorption. It's most serious in children who are growing. In adults, it can cause malnutrition. The polio vaccine works great and probably works better in the United States and Canada and Europe than it does in rural Pakistan. But I think EED is a reasonable explanation as well.
