Is Joseph Become Like an Egyptian?

I don't necessarily think that we ought to read these depictions of what is happening with Joseph as necessarily something that's negative. Instead, I think if you look at the names of his children, we see evidence that Joseph is maintaining his faith in the Lord and his commitment to Yahweh. In naming these children, this is an act of rebellion against Egypt. And so he names, he gives this kid a name that's going to be part of God's definition of his own character carrying away.
