The Kindest and Most Jolly Elephant in the Circus

Mappo the monkey told Slicko not to be afraid of Tom-Tom, the elephant in the circus. If you should see him, tell him that you are not a rat or a mouse; he is very much afraid of rats and mice. But then some circus men came over this way: I think they are going to look for me again so I'm going to run off and hide in the woods again. Gride the little girl squirrel also ran away from her aunt's nest because she was feeling rather lonesome without Mappo. She hid under leaves until Papa and Mama could make a new home for her family.
