I just remember seeing 16 candles when I was young and it just, my head exploded. It made teenagers like me seem sophisticated. Even though the kids in 16 candles seemed much richer than me. Up until those movies, every part that I had gone out for was to play someone's daughter. There was just nothing where my character was moving the story along until those movies.
