The History of the Government Code in Cypher School
The biggest threat that Britain perceived at the time was the Bolsheviks. Being able to intercept and decrypt their secret communications was very important. The government code in cypher school had its centenary last year. GCHQ is much more open these days but it did continue until World War II started.
