"I had an internal conflict between my character who I'd define myself as and the character who I wanted to be. And these two things were at each other's throats with knives," he says. "And so that went on for years...and it was tormenting to go through this roller coaster of like, of this." He then realized there is no such thing as 'who you think you are' but what you really are.
