The Indications for One Lung Ventilation

When ventilating only one of the two lungs, you'll want to reduce your volume. Usually, reducing the tide a volume in half does not leave enough for adequate gas exchange. Pressure cycled modes like pressure cycled assist control are difficult to use because you will not have a guaranteed tidle volume. It's more common to use volume control and reduce the volume to keep pe pressures less than 30.
