Do You Think San Francisco's Response to Drug Use Is the Opposite of Compassion?
When you think of an issue like homelessness, that is a problem that is, by definition, a problem of economic circumstances. The biggest safety issues that people face are largely rooted in economic circumstances. A progressive prosecutor is never saying we shouldn't prosecute some of the types of crimes that have existed in the past. But what i'm struck by is that, while i suspect there's a lot of agreement here, the catching point seems to be sort of an order of operations issue. And i wonder if we get rid of the idea of first or second because what is dictating a lot of thes interventions is what's available.
