Muriel's Kidnap

Muriel's two letters to her family were accompanied by a ransom note. The kidnapper had sent them intermittently throughout the course of the investigation. Detectives now suspected she may have been forced to pen all the letters at a much earlier date. For the first time since he disappearance, police were confronted with the possibility that muriel mc kay was dead. Her killer was planning his moves in advance to foster the hope she was alive and maintain control over the situation.
