Giroud's work, having revolved around desire, was especially intriguing to me and gave me some language to sort of understand humanity and myself both. And in my opinion, what's central to his thought is the human desire for transcendence. So you know, Girard couldn't be more relevant, I think, to the modern world that he explains so much when it comes to the world grappling with false ways of trying to achieve transcendence.
