The Invention of American Tradition

The way that we view the past, and this portion of american history, is all just completely manufactured. It's a narrative that was invented to really solidify our beliefs of the history of the time. Soo, there are four types of invented traditions: instant traditions invented by political and religious leaders. Deliberate but informal inventions by literary and artistic alites. And finally, ideas in the air for generations, given in substance by great men who invented grand metaphors for the nation.
