The El Nino Effect and the Price of Shipping
The Panama Canal Authority reduced by four feet the maximum draft of big containerships going through the canal. The reason for that is there isn't enough water left flowing into the locks. Rainfall in Central America is falling and it's partly because of the El Nino effect, which was officially declared to be in action again last week.
