Research the firm you're meeting with. You want to check things like their website and look them up on Twitter, LinkedIn, Crunchbase. Send materials for them to review. Not all investors will have time to read through everything you send but if they do, you'll be able to start the conversation on second base. Ask basic questions: What is your investment thesis? Do you lead? And how many investments do you make a year?
