There's a medicine we give our dogs that protects them from tick-borne diseases. There's also a vaccine against Lyme disease for dogs, but nothing like that for humans. The ticks induce an allergy that actually appears to fade over years. For many patients who don't get additional bites, alphagal syndrome resolves in many of them.
