The Importance of Politics

The reason why politics is dynamic and lends dynamism to society is that as we discussed in the Hobbes episode, politics is about contrary to what Rawls was suggesting in political liberalism. It's about managing disagreement and managing discord, managing Hobbesian subjectivity and the separation of minds. And by ignoring politics, we will fail to not only evolve and change as times change but also fail to fulfill the central function of politics which is managing competition and managing disagreement.
