The Church Institution Serves a Very Important Function
The church institution serves a very important function in teaching principles and rules about how to be a good person. One of the liabilities that we have culturally, and i think all groups on some level have, is that we make validation of ourselves the most important thing. We need this is good, this is bad, you know, what it is to be female, this is what it's to be male. And so we benefit from absorbing inherited ideas about who you are because we have to borrow a sense of self on some level.
