In the Night Kitchen
In the night kitchen was huge for me as a kid. I didn't feel alienated by the bazaarnd if you don't understand it, i think it can feel off putting and strange to come into contact with the bazaar. My view of literature has room for those didactic books carson was talking about on the shelf. The problem is that the people who were most excited about didactic fiction don't want room for the bazaar on their bookshelves. And i don't want to limit what kinds of stories are available to kids.
