The Kukubuk of Designing a Swarm of Drones
My background, my PhD was on swarm intelligence. Swarm intelligence is basically the theory of very large dynamic systems with lots of noise and lots of data that is constantly changing. In such systems, you have to develop dedicated mathematical techniques in order to be able to predict them and resign them. I thought this was more important than working on AI. And then when I did my postdoc at MIT, what we realized is that the same paradigm can be used to a great variety of other domains and fields. For example, transportation. Let's think in information. If you know nothing about transportation, assume that the only thing you care about are objects, their interactions, KPIs, information.
