Introduction
The word that we're talking about is called pepancha in Pali. No one really knows for sure what it means, even though it's been used all over the place. And I think a lot of people have gravitated in recent decades to this translation as mental proliferation. The kind of tendency of the mind when we have a concept to just kind of spiral out from that concept. It may be quite stressful or depressing or in some way not helpful but on some level entirely of our own making.
