Machin's Christianity and Liberalism

I've been studying a lot of Machin lately because it's the hundredth anniversary of the publication of Machin's Christianity and liberalism. In that book, Machin is is counteracting modernism, liberalism, which he saw not just as another form of Christianity but as a different religion altogether. And so you can throw a stone at any modernist or liberal group and you'll find a person who loves the beatitudes. But they're also divorced from the person and work of Christ and particularly his his divine nature and what he's accomplishing.
