The Differences Between the US and European Guidelines for Risk Factor Treatment

Alan Yang: The Europeans created this score to OPL or older persons risk scoring system that didn't exist previously. In the United States, we really have no recommendations with established risk scores for patients who are over the age of 75. So oftentimes, if a patient is 76 years old, that doesn't mean that they're not going to be treated. I think this discussion has really helped me start building a framework for how to prioritize risk factor treatment in our older patients.
