Xenophon and the Greeks
Xenophon describes what the women and children of the city do when they realize the Greeks are coming. He goes into great detail about basically how they plan this. They're going through different almost um don't know what their best equipment would be. Almost like counties. Different provinces. So you know various satraps governors of these provinces take up that kind of mantle so to speak.
