If you were to remove the oil industry from any of these economies tomorrow, it would be an unmitigated disaster. The pain that these countries went through when prices crashed at the beginning of the pandemic was really the stress test of a lifetime. And COVID showed us that if it were to happen very quickly, no one would really be ready for it. That's something that might provide some early clues as to how this dynamic plays out as we approach peak demand.
