Sally Kohn: It's very hard to think about biology and desire simultaneously. She says a woman must always be aware that underneath, you know, sort of the surface of things is an impersonal force called biology. And then the intersection of these two impersonal forces, she says, your person is sort of crucified on this intersection.Kohn: Well, it's existential too, and that you... well, what she's connecting here too in this essay is the fact that there's a threatened union of sperm and ovum indifferent to the egg owner's romantic thoughts.
