How to Overcome Post-Traumatic Stress
Zach learned that just having the alarm clock go off in the morning is enough to make him lick his lips, because he knows he's about to get fed. And so this kind of learning is not harmful for Zach. He's learned to pair an alarm clock with getting food. It's a useful and adaptive form of learning. But when it comes to trauma, this type of learning isn't necessarily helpful.
