The Dude, Where Is My Wife?

In the summer of 2015, I found myself crossing the Serbian-Hungarian border on foot and walking along what was then known as the refugee trail. That year more than a million people, mostly Syrians, fled the blood and chaos of war in the hope of a better life. Through it all, I interviewed at least a couple of hundred Syrian citizens. They told me horrible stories of barrel bombs killing multiple members of their family in the same day.
