The conservation of energy is related by Noether's theorem to a symmetry in translation in time. In other words translations in time are symmetric for example changing the clock to be 10 minutes ahead but time reversal is not necessarily symmetric so like running the clock backwards and seeing everything in the universe moved backwards in time.
