The Power of the Priest
Stephen decides to go to confession and repair his life. A good way to become a saint or prophet is to become a Jesuit, so he begins to watch the Jesuits. He becomes such a devoted and saintly boy that they begin to think of him as a potential priest. The director summons Stephen to his office and asks him if he has ever felt that he had a vocation. Then, observing that God calls only a chosen few to the religious life, the priest tells him: To receive that call, Stephen, said the priest, is the greatest honor that the Almighty God can bestow upon a man.
